Air Pipes — Privacy Policy

Air Pipes is a bagpipe simulator for iPhone, made by Tim Ross. It is designed so that it does not collect, store, or share any personal information. This page explains the few places the app touches your device's capabilities and what happens to that information.
Microphone
Air Pipes asks for microphone access so you can play the pipes by blowing into your iPhone. The app measures only the loudness of the sound at the microphone, in real time, entirely on your device. Audio is never recorded, never saved, and never leaves your device. If you prefer not to grant microphone access, the app offers an auto-blow mode instead.
Purchases
The optional "Unlock All Tunes" purchase is processed by Apple through the App Store. We never see or store your payment details. A record that you own the unlock is kept on your device and in your Apple account's purchase history, which also lets you restore the purchase on a new device.
Scores and settings
Your lesson scores and app settings (such as volume and tartan choice) are stored only on your device. They are not transmitted anywhere.
What we don't do
- No analytics or usage tracking of any kind.
- No advertising, and no advertising identifiers.
- No accounts, sign-ins, or profiles.
- No third-party services that receive your data.
Because the app collects no data from anyone, this applies equally to children using the app.
Sharing your score
If you choose to share a lesson result, the app hands the message and image to the iOS share sheet. What happens next is governed by the app you share to (for example, Messages or a social network) and its privacy policy.
Changes
If a future version of Air Pipes changes any of the above, we will update this policy and note the new effective date here before that version is released.
